I needed a car for the week I was going to be visiting family in NYC…I did a lot of research online, for I’d never rented a car before…Dollar had the best rates and a good deal for the week I needed a car, so I went ahead and booked it.
Then I cam to Epinions and read the reviews…and got a sick feeling in my stomach. I made note of things people complained about most, unapproved charges and add ons, bad customer service, bad cars. On a positive note, I only read one review of the location I was going to be at, Newark NJ, and it was a positive one. I decided to keep my reservation, and just be REALLY careful to check out the contract before signing.
I got to the counter after taking the Airtrain from my terminal, it was easily located and a nice airy location. I waited about 8 minutes for a represenative, and gave her my email confirmation info, she was a lovely young lady, very polite and courteous, brought up my info quick, made only one perfunctory inquiry about insurance, didn’t try to push any extras on me, and had me done and on my way to my car within 15 minutes…and she gave me a NEW car, I mean this car had exactly TWO MILES on it…it was a Suzuki 4 door model, perfect for me and my child. I made sure to check the car over very carefully inside and out for even the most minute scratch, filled out the little form and was on my way.
And upon return, again, I was greeted by a lovely older man who checked over the car, helped me get my bags and my daughters car seat out, and even went and got me a luggage cart to use! He gave me my receipt and again, I was on my way to our flight within about 15 minutes.
I do feel sorry for those with nightmare experiences with this company, I truly do. But I for one would highly recommend the Newark NJ airport location, they were extremely helpful and professional.
