Many years back when I purchased my Jansport gear from Hermans Sporting goods, I never would have imagined that they would last a lifetime. I would still have my original daypack if it wasn’t stolen. My full pack, a Jansport D5, was under Jansport’s lifetime warranty. When that pack was almost 25 years old, I contacted Jansport and they told me to take the pack off the frame and send it to them for repair. They re-sewed the two small seam tears and returned it to me at no charge. Most companies are unhappy when they have to warranty replace or repair their product in the first year.
I had also purchased a Jansport back pack tent over 30 years ago and I still use it on occasion. The quality of their products is outstanding. If they still made tents, I would replace my old Jansport back pack tent with a new one.
Jansport is the paragon for which all companies should model themselves. Very high quality and awesome customer support. They are proof that American manufacturers can compete with and outdue the cheap imports flooding this country. My Jansport gear cannot be beat. This company deserves the great reputation that they earned.
