I stayed at the Heathrow Holiday Inn recently, and enjoyed my stay for the most part. My room was very comfortable, and the hotel was a quick and convenient shuttle-ride from the airport. It was an especially nice location because I had a 20-hour layover, and didn’t want to bother with going into London and back.
There were several pros of the hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly, and catered to my various requests. My room was nice, clean, and comfortable. I ordered room service, and my food was reasonably priced and quite delicious.
My complaints about the experience are that the internet in my room was not working, and there is no wireless internet in the rooms. There was neither a hair dryer nor an iron. There was a pressing contraption that would heat-press your clothes, but it was difficult to use and did not iron out the wrinkles very well. Also, my room was somewhat cold and despite my attempts to turn the heat up, it did not seem to get much warmer.
That said, upon telling the manager about my internet troubles, he let me use his own computer to send a couple of important emails, so I was thankful for his hospitality. The front desk supplied me with a voltage converter to use during my stay, as well as toothpaste, since I’d forgotten my own. They were generally very helpful.
Overall, I think the best things about this hotel are the convenience, location, and comfort for the price. I would recommend this hotel, but you may want to bring your own hair dryer if it’s important to you to use one.
